Google's Earth new visual features
An angled perspective of MSN Earth could provide a more detailed and recognizable view of
buildings and monuments than a straight overhead angle. Google's application provides angled views,
mainly through users' models of buildings and geographical features. Microsoft also demonstrated
another new feature for Virtual Earth, where a virtual car can be driven through certain U.S. cities.
Some car manufacturers had already contacted Microsoft to discuss putting their concept cars into the
simulation, Tao said.

New text-based ads from Miva
A participating publisher can decide which pages or sections of their site the ads will
appear on, the frequency of ads to be displayed for each keyword and how many keywords to allow
on a specific page. Publishers can also set ads to appear on every instance of a keyword, or
just the first one.

Search engines morphing with online yellow pages
Some industry insiders even foresee search engines morphing with online yellow pages. A report
on local search ads published in March by local online advertising research firm Borrell Associates
indicated over 60 percent of local ad expert panelists believe search engines will merge with the
online yellow pages model in the next two years, contributing to the eventual demise of the print
yellow pages in many major US markets.
