Two young Google engineers leave for venture capital firm Benchmark
Benchmark’s Fenton said the plentiful capital available in Silicon Valley for mid-stage financings makes it more lucrative for Benchmark to invest in earlier stage companies. Valuations are low when companies are young, so Benchmark pays less to own a stake in those risky seed-stage companies.

Terry Semel had warned Yahoo's board he wanted to retire
However, in a statement today, Semel did say he had already told the board that he wanted to step away "sooner rather than later." To many people, Semel's resignation was expected. Semel said "this is the time for new executive leadership, with different skills and strengths, to step in and drive Yahoo to realize its full potential.
