eBay users booted out of Google's new Checkout payment gateway
Sellers may offer to accept personal checks, money orders, cashier’s checks, certified checks and
other negotiable instruments. Please see the “Some Examples” section of this policy for those
evaluated payment services permitted in the eBay marketplace. This decision by eBay is seen by some
observers as an attempt to control the way eBay sellers take credit cards, and, as a side-effect,
limit their leverage with Google Adwords if they feel it starts to infringe on the PayPal system.

Smarter.com wants its advertisers to get more qualified leads
Smarter.com believes allowing people to narrow results will result in advertisers receiving
more qualified leads. The company is playing catch-up with more well-known players that had a
significant head start before it launched in 2004. For example, Shopping.com began beefing up
its unpaid listings in the name of comprehensiveness back three years ago.
