Competition for trademarked keywords getting fierce again
Danny Sullivan speculates that Yahoo's policy of banning trademarked keywords
wont completely prevent the bidding on them, just competitor's
keywords. This is sparked by Mazda buying the keyword "Pontiac" to
capitilize on Pontiac's "Google Pontiac" TV ad.

Google gaining market share over Yahoo and MSN
Google, by far and away, gets the most loyalty from its users.
Predictably, Yahoo and MSN follow in second and third respectively
but there are many surprises to be found moving down the list.
The results of the study give a good indication of how reliable search
engine users find the search engines they use.

Google's WiFi project: Along with S.F., Chicago and Houston have requested bids
Big cities such as Chicago and Houston have requested bids.
EarthLink is building a network in Philadelphia that will cost
at least $9 a month. "WiFi deployment is picking up in cities,
faster than I thought," Vos said. In November, the San Francisco
Department of Telecommunications and Information Services said 26
companies had responded to a preliminary request for information.

Will AOL's AIM service become a force in low-cost Internet phone calling?
Google's and Yahoo's instant messengers already offer voice. But
tech analysts say AIM would quickly become a force in cheap Internet
phone calling — a market now led by eBay-owned Skype. The service
should roll out in late spring. Miller also plans to open AIM to
outside software developers. They might, for instance, create a
tool to finally allow its users to chat with users of other
messaging services.
