Is click fraud still a growing problem?
Search engines say they catch most click fraud and compensate
customers for any that slips through the cracks. They don't divulge
statistics but have complained that high click fraud statistics
provided by companies that sell pay-per-click ad services are
questionable and possibly inflated.

Yahoo's Terry Semel optimistic about his company's competitive position
In a conference call after the earnings release, CEO Terry Semel
said was optimistic about Yahoo's competitive position. He said
the company would provide details on the much-awaited improvements
to its search engine at its investor meeting in May. The improvements
will be rolled out in three phases. "Our goal is to complete this
rollout in a way that is most productive for our advertisers," Semel
says. "We have enormous opportunties ahead and I believe the right
people, resources and strategy to get there."

MSN wants to be part of the social atmosphere and social media

The average click bid cost for Q1 2006 is $1.39
Fathom Online tracks keyword bids through its Triton data collection,
aggregation and reporting platform. In the first quarter of 2006,
the keyword list for the KPI was expanded from 4,000 generic keywords
across eight categories to more than 20,000 generic keywords across
twelve categories. Evaluated on select search engines, keyword
averages are reliable indicators for media buyers, but are not
to be considered proxies for the financial state of the search
industry.
